In Safe Keeping

Thank you for sharing your cards with us in our 'You can leave your hat on!' challenge last week.

Today it's Zuzana here and I have a question for you. Are you using the postal mail or do you prefer modern internet ways to send your letters?
I've chosen a challenge called
In Safe Keeping
to remind us of the old fashioned way to write the letters, using pen and luxury letter writing paper stationery!

I dare you to create cards with pockets and/or envelopes on.

Now, let's see what our talented Design Team created for us.

You can leave your hat on

Thank you for joining last week’s challenge. Your beautiful cards definitely helped to chase away the January Blues.

And we are convinced that crafting makes us happy no matter if it’s cold and grey outside.

It’s Miri here and this week:

You can leave your hat on!

I dare you to use any kind of head gear on your card: party hats, helmets, woolly hats, crowns, fascinators etc.

So put on your thinking cap :-), create a card and share it with us!

Here are some examples from the design team members.

January Blues

'Hello

Thanks to those who joined in with our January Elemental Inspiration challenge last week, it was great to see lots of different interpretations and ways to use the different elements in the picture
This week we have something nice and simple for you:

January Blues

You are free to use the title however you want; it could be a "just to cheer you up" or "sorry to hear you're feeling blue" card,  a card with shades of blue as the main colour, or something else inspired by the heading.  Lets chase the January Blues away with some quality time spent getting creative!

have fun

Elemental Inspiration for January

 Happy New Year!

Hi, it's Kathy here with the first card dare for 2015 and the first in a brand new series of First Friday challenges - yes, we know that technically it's the second Friday of January this time, but from February on it will be the first Friday each month

"Elemental Inspiration"

Here's how it works;
The DT will take turns to choose and post a picture - it could be a photo, a piece of artwork, or maybe a little montage of  bits and pieces we like.
Each of these pictures will have a variety of "elements" that we hope will inspire you to get crafting - and we'd like you to use a minimum of THREE.of the elements you see to make a card
For instance  the colour combo could be one element, the LO another, and then there may be a landscape, items in the picture, a quote, stitching lines, the media used to create the picture - all sorts of things.
We will add a little list of suggested elements each month, but you're bound to see more things you can use

So here is my Elemental Inspiration Picture for January, a beautiful piece of artwork from a fabulous blog: Victoria's Art Visions.

Victoria's Art Visions
Here are my Element Suggestions for this picture:
colours, stitching, hearts, quote, vintage girl image, parasol, layout, vertical panels and layers
Remember you need to use at least THREE different elements and the colour combination can only count as ONE of those elements

I've also  made a little sketch of the Layout which could be used as one of your elements
So that's your challenge this week and I can't wait to see how you use this fabulous picture to make your own Elementally Inspired card.  It would be especially good if you could add a lost of the elements you used to your blog post so we can all see where your inspiration came from

Here's how the Team rose to the challenge this week

Kathy  (I've used the colours, the hearts, the "stitching lines and the style of the cut-out words for the sentiment)
